Emily Wilson-Smith is a writer, speaker and consultant using her diverse leadership experiences to reimagine power.

During over a decade in leadership roles, from doctor and researcher to founding CEO and political candidate, she saw firsthand how heroic leadership narratives and steeply hierarchical power structures prevent us from creating long-lasting change.

From national politics to the women’s rights movement, when power is concentrated around a small group of homogeneous people, she saw the same results- groupthink and short-sighted decision-making.

She grew weary of the same old patterns and lost hope that we could rise to the urgent global challenges we face.

Then, she discovered a different path to progress.

Collective leadership models and participatory power structures can harness the full diversity of human thought and experience.

Together, we can build the ideas and innovations we truly need.
